Texas Senate Bill 1588 has made some changes to the law regarding homeowner associations limitation. Particularly, residents are now allowed to erect a perimeter fence (including the front yard). The ACC board has established new policies in regards to this bill. You may find the policy by CLICKING HERE.
ACC is friendly!
The ACC is NOT a policing group. They simply apply the rules of the MCCA by-laws in order to HELP you improve your property. The process is simple, and most request are approved quickly and easily as long as they are in accordance with the by-laws.
Do I need ACC approval for a shed?
Yes. Any structure (temporary or permanent) being built after you purchased your home needs to be approved by ACC.
I’m painting my house, does that need to be approved?
Yes. The by-laws state which colors are appropriate for the homes in our subdivision. If you are simply repainting your house the SAME COLORS, you DO NOT need approval.
I’m remodeling my kitchen, does that need to be approved?
No. Nothing on the interior of the home needs to be approved by ACC.
I want to build a swing set for my kids, does that need approval?
Yes. Any structure (temporary or permanent) being built after you purchased your home needs to be approved by ACC.
I would like solar panels, does that need to be approved?
Yes. Solar panels are allowed in the neighborhood as long as they are not visible from the front of the house (street view). In order to make sure they fit the by-law requirements, an ACC approval is required.
